Elena Morris was born (Elena Khruleva) in the city of Magadan located in the Far East of Russia.

She attended the Vladivostok Academia of Art and graduated with a degree in Fine art, Oil Painting and Teaching. In 1988 she attended the University of Art in Khabarovsk Russia and received her Masters in Fine Art, Oil Painting and Fine Art Teaching.

She had participated in numerous exhibits. Elena has been a professional artist and teacher for 20 years. Her primary medium is oil. However, she likes to work with pastel and watercolor occasionally. Her creative method is based on the traditional Russian painting school where the realism and impressionism have lived and worked in chorus. She transforms the real image of nature into the rich texture paintings. Her classical art skills reflect the Russian School of Oil Painting, a style that combines a powerful realistic involvement with the soft, lyrical looseness of impressionism.

She moved to Livermore, California in 2003. Elena Morris participated in more than 50 exhibitions in Russia. Her works are kept in galleries and private collections in Russia, United States, Italy, Japan, China, and South Korea.
